"The most exciting thing about Barking and Dagenham Giving is their ability to affect many charities and the whole 3rd sector in the area."
What got you interested in working in Barking and Dagenham?
I believe we can make a real difference in Barking and Dagenham. And coming from a large working class family from Birmingham I know the importance of helping people help themselves. It’s exciting to work with an organisation that wants to accelerate change across a broad sweep of areas.
What are your hopes for the borough?
To embed a real ethos of support for charities, and to ensure the annuity that comes from the charity’s Community Endowment Fund is seen as a great benefit to the area.
How do you think the community can help achieve those goals?
Everyone needs to feel involved in agreeing what we should be doing but prioritisation is key!
