Announcement: Relief Fund Recipients

Relief Fund Recipients

Last month, the board of trustees released £30,000 of funding to help sustain organisations in the community that had been impacted by the pandemic.

Building on the success of last year’s Rapid Response Fund, we invited people from across the borough to come forward as community decision-makers.

We are incredibly proud of our decision-makers for the commitment and community spirit they have shown and wish to extend our thanks to all of them.

With over thirty applications for funding and only ten grants available, they were faced with many difficult choices and, after a period of deliberation, they reached a consensus.

As such, we are pleased to announce that the following organisations have received grants:

CM Production Management Ltd. is a successful production management company, working to deliver, resource and support combined community arts, alongside Local Authorities, NPOs and CPP projects based in Barking and Dagenham.

They focus on working with women and girls to help challenge gender inequalities, create new female role models, and empower them to make change and grow in confidence.

The organisation supports community and arts engagement activity in Barking and Dagenham and supports emerging local artists by giving space and time for experimenting and sharing their work with local people.

Whole Body Therapy provides physical activity opportunities for the older population who are inactive or at risk of falls. They provide social opportunities for those who are disadvantaged by age, ill health or gender, as well as outreach services to help improve the health, wellbeing and independence of the local community.

Once again, we would like to give big thank you to everyone who took part in this process and our congratulations to those who were successful in their applications.

We would also like to thank anybody who took the time to apply for the fund who was not successful and we hope that they will not be discouraged from engaging or applying for funding with us in the future.
