CM Production Management Ltd. is a successful production management company, working to deliver, resource and support combined community arts, alongside Local Authorities, NPOs and CPP projects based in Barking and Dagenham.
East End Women’s Museum is a new kind of museum that researches, shares and celebrates local women’s stories. Their building at Barking Wharf Square (Abbey Road) opens later in 2021. They focus on working with women and girls to help challenge gender inequalities, create new female role models, and empower them to make change and grow in confidence.
HumDum UK CIC is a local food bank that has been running for over 2 years in Barking, serving over 200 meals per week though demand has surged by as much as 600% over the last year. They also lead the BD food network.
Muslimah Sports Association provides sports activities and life skill sessions for Muslim and BAME females, removing barriers in order to engage them in an environment that meets their cultural and religious needs. MSA has been able to deliver a variety of projects and sports to support participants to get involved in volunteering and social action opportunities outside of their own communities to break down barriers and perceptions.
One Room Live CIC is a creative collective of artist designers makers primarily based in Barking and Dagenham, focussing on creating spaces of collaboration, wellbeing and artistic and economic opportunities through live events, workshops and artistic outputs.
Sew London Project CIC is a BAME-led organisation whose focus is to help the environment by diverting textile waste from going into landfill and reducing carbon emissions by using the donated textiles sent to them to run recycling sewing, arts & crafts workshops for adults and young people.
Dauda Ladejobi, lead artist of Spoken, Not Stirred a local spoken word organisation, that puts on monthly shows and runs workshops and events with local organisations and schools.
Talk About It CIC delivers programmes of workshops which aim to raise awareness of mental health issues among young people, empowering them to ‘talk about it’ and using music and creative writing to reflect personally and share publicly.
The Boathouse Barking CIC is a community interest company (non-profit) based in the Boathouse Creative Studios in Abbey Road, Barking. The organisation supports community and arts engagement activity in Barking and Dagenham and supports emerging local artists by giving space and time for experimenting and sharing their work with local people.
Whole Body Therapy provides physical activity opportunities for the older population who are inactive or at risk of falls. They provide social opportunities for those who are disadvantaged by age, ill health or gender, as well as outreach services to help improve the health, wellbeing and independence of the local community.
