Geraud De Ville has been appointed Chief Executive of Barking and Dagenham Renew (BD Renew) the charity that enables and empowers residents to develop their ideas and initiate activities that add something to the borough.
Before taking up the post Geraud led the development of the B&D Giving platform on behalf of the council where he worked with funders and the private sector to create new funds for Barking and Dagenham, including a £100,000 Rapid Response Fund and a £60,000 Borough Innovation Fund. Before that Geraud worked for the council for three years on strategies for the VCSE, cohesion and integration, resident participation and engagement. He also holds a PHD in international development, with a focus on participatory methodologies.
Avril McIntyre, Chair of the Board of BD Renew and a Member of the Steering Group of B&D Giving said
“We’re delighted that Geraud has accepted the post of CEO to help BD Renew transform the way we give in Barking & Dagenham. Geraud’s expertise in building partnerships and ensuring marginalised groups are heard will ensure that B&D Renew and Giving continue to listen to the community and provides the resources needed to make the changes local people want to see.”
Geraud De Ville said
“I believe that the issues of poverty and inequality can be addressed if we work together. A collective commitment to that belief is more important than ever with the impact of coronavirus on the people, voluntary and community groups in the borough. I very much look forward to working closely with local people and VCSE, the council and the private sector to transform the way we give locally.”
