Give it a Go Fund is back!

We’re excited to launch the third round of Give it a Go Fund.

Just like before, we teamed up with a group of local residents to pick a theme for this round of funding.

The group chose: Mental Health and Wellbeing. They chose the theme because of the number of people in the borough struggling with mental health challenges and the need to help people improve their mental health and wellbeing. Examples of what they’d like to fund, include but are not limited to:

  • Sports and physical activities
  • Healthy cooking and food
  • Therapeutic support or peer support groups
  • Creative workshops
  • Connecting with nature
  • Special Education Needs (SEND) support

They also chose to give particular focus to applications for projects that are delivered in these wards of the borough:

  • Gascoigne
  • Northbury
  • Becontree
  • Barking Riverside
  • Eastbrook & Rush Green
  • Chadwell Heath (particularly Marks Gate)

What is the Give it a Go Fund?

As decided by a group of eight resident co-designers in May last year, the Give it a Go Fund provides ten applicants £2,000 each for something that fills a gap and delivers social impact in the borough.

Decisions about what gets funded  are made by residents – usually the same group who helped co-design the round of the fund.

Other eligibility criteria includes:

  • Maximum annual turnover of £50,000
  • Project is delivered within Barking and Dagenham
  • Project fosters inclusivity
  • Project is new for you or your organisation
  • Project is delivered in the next 3-4 months
  • Project is in line with the theme of ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing’
  • You are not a previous Give it a Go Fund grantee

How to apply

To apply for this round of funding, fill in the online application form which can be found below.

The deadline for submitting applications is 10:00 on 18 February 2025.
