We are very excited to announce the launch of the second round of our Give it a Go Fund!
The Fund is basically the same but we worked with a new group of eight residents to make a few tweaks based on what we learnt from the first round.
They decided that there should be a theme for this round and they chose: Togetherness.
This means the Fund is for ideas that bring people together, particularly people from different cultures and age groups and can help reduce isolation and support people struggling with loneliness. Examples of this could be:
- Cooking classes
- Gardening
- Sport activities
- Arts and craft classes
- Mental health support
Togetherness is such an important theme, not only as we head into winter when people are feeling more isolated, but also for bringing together the many amazing groups of people in this borough.

What is the Give It A Go Fund?
As decided by our original eight resident co-designers in May this year, the Give it a Go Fund provides ten applicants £2,000 grants for something that fills a gap and delivers social impact in the borough.
Applicants must also:
- have annual turnover of no more than £50,000.
- deliver their work within Barking and Dagenham.
- ensure their work fosters or will foster inclusivity.
