We are excited to announce ten new recipients of our Give it a Go Fund! A panel of eight residents selected ten ideas to receive a £2,000 grant each:
- Walk it Out: Empowers women and girls through free activities to improve health and wellbeing, boost confidence and improve safety.
- Pullums Dance Academy: Dance school in Barking Riverside which wants to run a dance club in February half term.
- Youth Circle: Project designed to support young people in Dagenham through sports, creative activities and trips.
- Empower Your Roots: Create new CIC based in Chadwell Heath focused on promoting physical and mental well-being through sports.
- Siama Rhasia Khatun: Run craft sessions for kids and wellness workshops for mums across the borough.
- The Magic Stork: Run a small pot of culturally sensitive individual therapeutic sessions for migrant and multicultural communities which can be offered to local organisations.
- Messy Play: CIC dedicated to supporting young children with SEND through free weekly play groups.
- Wood Lane Baptist Church: Develop a community allotment in Dagenham to give up to eight families the opportunity to grow their own food.
- Nice Bunch: Offer social and learning sessions for children and their families, with a focus on, but not exclusive to, families that follow alternative education.
- S.M.U.N: Create a wellbeing hub for mums of children with SEND, offering workshops focused on mental health, resilience and practical support.

We’ve learnt a lot from this round and will be reflecting and taking this learning forward to improve the next round of the Give it a Go Fund, which will launch in February 2025.
