Give it a Go Fund: Children & Young People recipients
We’re excited to announce the ten new recipients of the latest round of our Give it a Go Fund. Selected by our ‘Given it a Go’ cohort, made up of previous grantees and decision-makers, the theme for this round was Children and Young People.
Give it a Go is our fund for local businesses, charities, CICs, and individuals to apply for £2,000 to test out new ideas. Local people decide what gets funded.
The recipients were chosen by a group of eight residents, including young people and people who work with young people in the borough.

Who did we fund?
- Move Mentor – sports and wellbeing programme for children aged 7-14
- Write Back – 10-week storytelling programme for SEND young people
- bMoneyWize CIC – 5 week book club exploring fun money books to help primary school children learn about money
- Wander Wild Forest School CIC – outdoor cooking classes for children and families
- Love Education CIC – creative summer camp for children aged 7-11 including theatre, dance, music, writing, arts and crafts and digital animation
- Create Wellness Wonder – mentoring and coaching for young people in confidence, leadership, communication and management skills
- Life Brooks International – cooking workshops and arts & crafts sessions for young people facing mental health challenges
- Sol Clarke – creative workshops where children and young people can use role play and interactive theatre to explore situations they might face at home, school or online
- Samson Opayemi – digital education programme for children and young people
- Gabriel Guiba McNulty – creative hub for young people to access to free music production, collaboration and expression
Thank you to everyone who applied and everyone involved in the decision-making!
The next round of the fund will launch in September. Keep an eye out for opportunities to be a decision-maker or apply for the fund! The best way to stay up to date is by following us on social media or signing up to our newsletter.
