Disruptive Explorers

The Disruptive Explorers (DE) are a group of local organisations and community groups that want to find new ways to disrupt harmful systems in the borough.
Currently, our work has three areas of focus:
  • Power: We want to disrupt how power is used and try different ways of using power.
  • Connection: We want to create environments where different voices and perspectives are accommodated.
  • Learning: We want to equip ourselves and our communities with the knowledge and skills to use power and make change.

This work is being funded by the Lankelly Chase Foundation, as part of their Place Action Inquiry, and the document also outlines the ways in which we intend to use this funding to promote local change. Barking and Dagenham Giving is holding this funding but all decisions about it are made collectively by the group.
If anything you read resonates with you, or you want to ask questions or get involved then please get in touch with us. We would love to have you join our exploration.
We do not need to face our problems alone.
