A small grants fund to test out new ideas for Barking and Dagenham

The Give it a Go Fund is open to local businesses, charities, CICs, and individuals. We welcome bold ideas for making positive contributions to the borough.

Nassaba was one of the grantees in our first round of the Give it a Go Fund. She went on to be a co-designer and decision-maker for the second round. Watch the videos above to hear about her experience of being both a grantee and a co-designer!

What is the Give it a Go Fund?

Eight local people formed a team make decisions about the design of the Give it a Go Fund in May 2024.

They decided the Give it a Go Fund should provide ten applicants grants of £2,000 in each round and agreed that applicants must:

  • have an annual turnover of no more than £50,000
  • have an idea which is new for them and address a gap in the borough
  • have an idea which has the potential to deliver social impact and foster inclusivity
