Give it a Go Fund is back!

We’re excited to launch the fourth round of our Give it a Go Fund.

This time, the theme has been chosen by our ‘Given it a Go’ group: 11 local people who’ve either received funding or helped make decisions in previous rounds.

Their choice? Children and young people – because our borough has the highest number of children and young people in the country, and the highest number living in deprivation across London.

We’re looking for creative ideas – think youth leadership programmes, coding or online safety workshops, youth-led gardening or recycling projects, or anything that helps build confidence and resilience.

If you know anyone who could apply or any young people who could join the decision-making panel, please get in touch!

*Please note that we also have another fund open now – GROW Fund – this is a different fund aimed at supporting the growth of existing businesses and organisations.*

What is the Give it a Go Fund?

As decided by a group of eight resident co-designers in May last year, the Give it a Go Fund provides ten applicants £2,000 each for something that fills a gap and delivers social impact in the borough.

All decisions about what gets funded are made by residents.

Other eligibility criteria includes:

  • Maximum annual turnover of £50,000
  • Project is delivered within Barking and Dagenham
  • Project fosters inclusivity
  • Project is new for you or your organisation
  • Project is delivered in the next 3-4 months
  • You are not a previous Give it a Go Fund grantee
